Teach, Tutor, Coach, Guiding for Success
Julien brings many years of experience working with children and youth! Julien’s love for teaching was inspired by his love for coaching. Ever since he coached his first sports team — a senior girls soccer team in his junior year of high school — he knew he wanted to become an educator!
On his path to becoming an educator, he first obtained his Red Seal “B” Pressure Ticket for welding. He had a very successful career as a welder that led to an opportunity to teach welding at the post-secondary level in Alberta for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (N.A.I.T.). He snapped this opportunity up as it fulfilled his dream of being an educator!
For over seven years & counting, Julien has been involved as a Coach and Active Director in a myriad of sports, including baseball, T-ball, basketball, hockey and soccer. (It may have been easier to list the sports he hasn’t coached!) Julien was also pivotal in creating a sports program tailored to children aged three to six. As a League Director, he helped to ensure that all participants were grouped by age and skill, to allow for maximum personal growth in the sport the child loved to play! Julien has always enjoyed the challenge of creating solutions for the problems presented to him.
Julien is currently enrolled in the Elementary Post-Baccalaureate Education Program at Vancouver Island University (VIU), causing him and his family to relocate to Nanaimo with his family of six. He is excited to continue his adventure in becoming involved in his community, and to continue teaching!
In Julien's own words:"The Twist, for me, lies in discovering what style of learner you are and how we can best tailor a learning strategy to your needs. Let’s get Twisted and create a plan for continued success."
