If you don\u2019t want your child to get \u00a0\u201changry\u201d &#8212;\u00a0hungry and angry &#8212; then make sure they are eating their lunch!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If your child regularly doesn\u2019t each their lunch, something needs to change as kids need to fuel their brains and bodies! (If any of those dishes\u00a0sound great, STIR Cooking school can help you make them!)<\/p>\n<p>When you make dinner, make\u00a0extra servings and then put them aside for lunches for the next day.\u00a0Or, if lunch is needed for the next day, freeze it in individual portions to use in the future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/de9349a1-69b4-4659-98e9-d43e3c6c1d25.jpg\" alt=\"sandwich not made with love\" width=\"300\" height=\"279\" align=\"none\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/de9349a1-69b4-4659-98e9-d43e3c6c1d25.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>2 &#8211; OWNERSHIP<\/strong><br \/>\nSometimes WHO\u00a0makes the lunch is more important than WHAT\u00a0is in it! <span style=\"color: #000000;\">If a child\u00a0packs their own lunch, they are more likely to eat it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As ownership of lunches is important and as we\u2019ve suggested that you can use leftovers for lunches, having your children involved in dinner preparations is important too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Plus, you won\u2019t have to put a\u00a0note like the one above in ;)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 &#8211; CATEGORIES<\/strong><br \/>\nEnsure that something from each of the following categories is in your child\u2019s lunch, regardless of who\u2019s making it.<\/p>\n<p>Put the following list where it will be seen while making lunches.<\/p>\n<p>A) Protein<\/p>\n<p>B) Fruits &amp; Vegetables<\/p>\n<p>C) Whole Grains\/Rice\/Pasta<\/p>\n<p>D) Healthy Snacks<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/5aa43335-46d0-4ec4-bef4-e8f76f1e7b54.jpg\" alt=\"boy smiling with snack\" width=\"300\" height=\"124\" align=\"none\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/5aa43335-46d0-4ec4-bef4-e8f76f1e7b54.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>4 &#8211; SIMPLE &amp;\u00a0FUN IDEAS<\/strong><br \/>\nChoosing a theme occasionally, Italian with a skewer of tomato and mozzarella cheese, and pasta with a healthy meat sauce. Mexican lunch could include mini taco\u2019s, salsa\/ guacamole and corn chips with a bean and corn salad.<\/p>\n<p>Try different nut\/seed and dried fruit mixes, popcorn with a tasty spice mix or some pita or kale chips to keep things interesting!<\/p>\n<p>Lunches in a jar are fun and easy! Have your kids do a food jar idea, search on the internet as there is an endless number of great ideas that are fun and delicious. Here is one site to get you started:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.simplemost.com\/13-make-ahead-ridiculously-good-lunch-jar-lunches-arent-salad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.simplemost.com\/13-make-ahead-ridiculously-good-lunch-jar-lunches-arent-salad\/\"><u>http:\/\/www.simplemost.com\/13-make-ahead-ridiculously-good-lunch-jar-lunches-arent-salad\/<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In doing my research\u00a0for this article, I came across an eating program in the States that has a reward system for\u00a0children who\u00a0bring\u00a0a rainbow in their lunch!\u00a0On Rainbow Day, students are asked to use fruits and vegetables\u00a0to create a \u201crainbow\u201d of at least three colours. Once they have finished eating their\u00a0\u201crainbow\u201d, they\u2019ll receive a sticker or other small reward. This<\/span>\u00a0introduces the concept of eating a plate full of colourful fruits and vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/6c71326b-ffb7-483f-b6de-fb2acc8075c5.jpeg\" alt=\"bushel of veggies\" width=\"150\" height=\"250\" align=\"none\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/fc3f61d88e7cec0b5e0aa6a84\/images\/6c71326b-ffb7-483f-b6de-fb2acc8075c5.jpeg\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>5 &#8211; PREP<\/strong><br \/>\nPack lunches the night before. If you are using leftovers, pack them right after dinner and tuck them in the fridge, ready for the morning rush. Then, all you have to do is heat thermos contents in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>Pick up a lunch box container with dividers.
