This is an email from the NDSS Francophone School Principal in regards to what Online Schooling will look like in B.C.
Looking at the models they are using across Canada for e-learning, and what a school district in BC that serves Nanaimo-Ladysmith students has released, I believe we have a pretty good idea that SD68 will be heading in the same direction!
Here is the email we received:
Dear Parents & Guardians,
We hope you have had an enjoyable spring break despite the unusual situation.
In line with the Ministry of Education guidelines, instruction over the coming weeks will be different from what we are used to.
To that end, we would like to share the following information with you:
1. Firstly, schools will not be able to accommodate students on site.
2. Staff will be using the week of March 30 to set up new arrangements for continuing instruction.
-In the meantime, optional resources will be available on the CSF website to provide your child with fun, educational activities. These resources are optional and their goal is to help your child to keep on learning.
-All instruction will be conducted virtually. No classroom instruction will take place.
-Your child’s teacher will be contacting you soon to let you know what tools will be used for instruction going forward.
-Appropriate tools will be put in place to reach all students, including those in kindergarten through grade 3.
IMPORTANT: We would like to know if you are a front-line worker in need of child care. We invite you to fill out the survey that the CSF Board Office has sent you or by clicking on the following link:
