Megan is a qualified South African teacher with a Bachelor of Education and a wide range of teaching experiences! While in school, she worked as a nanny for children of all ages and completed a 150-hour TEFL/TESOL Master Course, which strengthened her ability to support multilingual learners. After graduating, she moved to London, England, United Kingdom (UK)! In London, she taught two energetic Year 5 classes and took on the role of History Subject Lead. During the pandemic, she adapted her teaching for online learning, further developing her creativity and flexibility!

Megan later transitioned into educational recruitment, specialising in primary and special educational needs, and further completed a Diploma in Special Needs Education. Around this same time, Megan was diagnosed with Combined ADHD, an experience that gave her a deeper understanding of the challenges many learners face. This personal insight has made her a more empathetic and adaptable educator, especially when supporting students with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other learning differences!

Before moving to beautiful British Columbia (BC), Megan worked across several UK schools as a support teacher and intervention specialist, providing targeted lessons to help children with additional needs gain confidence and key skills. Most recently, she has been tutoring two Special Education students with Autism and ADHD through the local council and has loved seeing their progress. As a Twisted Tutor, she focuses on creating a warm, encouraging learning environment where every child feels understood and motivated. In her spare time, she is working toward her BC teaching license and enjoys spending time with family and friends, being in nature, BBQs, and caring for animals!

In Megan's own words:"For me, the Twist means stepping away from a one-size-fits-all approach and bringing a sense of play, imagination, and adaptability into each session! I want every child to feel truly involved, supported, and eager to dive into learning, and that happens when lessons are tailored to who they are and what makes them light up."
