Walden
Learn Through Miss-Takes!
Walden is completing his Bachelor of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. That said, he is born and raised on Vancouver Island!
Walden is super passionate about education, science, and helping others learn. He believes that every student learns differently and that building confidence is just as important as developing academic skills. With a strong academic background and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, Walden strives to create a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment for students, helping them feel comfortable asking questions, making miss-takes, and celebrating their progress.
Walden has gained valuable teaching and mentorship experience through his involvement with Class Without Walls at Queen’s University, where he serves as an English tutor and EDIAA director. He adapts his teaching strategies to students’ individual needs, interests, and learning goals. He also works as a Course Reviewer and Developer with Youth Mental Health Canada, helping create accessible and engaging educational materials. Additionally, Walden’s involvement in scientific research, including laboratory work and systematic reviews and meta-analyses, has further built his critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Outside of academics, Walden loves staying active, playing music, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family. He has played hockey for over ten years, refereed for three years, and enjoys getting back on the ice whenever he can. Music is another big part of his life, as he has played piano competitively for ten years and enjoys learning the guitar. In his free time, he loves exploring new places, trying new sports, and making memories with the people around him!
